FINDING AN INTERNSHIP & INFORMATION ABOUT BUSX 460

BUSX 460 is an upper-level required course for Business Administration, Accounting and e-Business majors, which requires you to complete an internship. The following tips can help you find the right internship for you.
- Research the companies at which you want to intern. Go to the organizations’ websites to see if they are hiring.
- Know the company(s) deadlines regarding internships.
- Make an appointment with Mrs. Lisa Michocki to receive a professional opinion on the company.
- Go to the TU Career Center to have your resume reviewed.
- Create a LinkedIn account.
- Email someone who is currently an intern or employee at the location you want to intern and ask about their experience at the company.
- Make sure your resume matches what the company is looking for.

Keep in mind the requirements for BUSX 460 internships which are:
- 1. Internship hours must be performed during the duration of the semester in which the student is enrolled in the course. Internships from prior semesters will not be accepted. Students must complete 120 hours in the internship to receive course credit.
- 2. The internship must take place in an office. Students cannot telecommute or work from a home setting.
- 3. The company must have more than 3 full-time employees. The employees cannot be contractual or telecommuter employees.
- 4. The internship cannot consist of door-to-door selling or pure cold calling.
- 5. The internship can only include 10 percent clerical work.
- 6. Students cannot intern for a family member.
- 7. Students cannot intern at their own business.
- 8. Students may not use the same internship for both a Departmental Internship and Professional Experience BUSX 460.
