STUDENT INVOLVEMENT MEANS SUCCESS ALL AROUND
Kara Achilihu
Are you a pre-accounting major seeking a position that will further enhance your knowledge of Accounting? Or are you an Entrepreneurship or Marketing concentration looking for an internship post-graduation? Perhaps you are a Legal Studies concentration who wishes to network with other pre-law students. If so, the CBE offers a student organization for every single major and concentration, and then some!
Getting involved in at least one student organization is an awesome way to establish leadership and teamwork skills that are imperative in the job or graduate school application process. Many employers and admissions officers base their decisions on those exact qualities in applicants. Imagine, if every student applying for a job is well-qualified, how will they make their decision? Studies show that applicants who were involved in a student organization during their undergraduate years are more likely to be hired or accepted into the graduate program of their choice. Joining a student organization is also a wonderful way to network with other students and advisors. You will learn how to handle responsibilities as well as participating in events that will benefit you tremendously. Also, you can discover an interest in a field you may have never known before! |
