When is the last time you took a risk, tried something new or did something that made you uncomfortable? Comfort zones act as barriers that once broken can change you into a much more developed person. Here are three ways you can break out of your comfort zone and move your life forward.
1. Move to a different state or—if you are really bold—to a different country. Moving to a different place forces a person to take on more responsibilities than they had before. If you are a person who is soft-spoken and shy, putting yourself in situations in which you have to approach new people including friends, co-workers, or new neighbors will teach you to be extroverted and exit your comfort zone more often.
2. Get serious about self-improvement. It is difficult to receive criticism or negative feedback. Some people cannot take criticism at all. The ability to look in the mirror and accept your flaws is the first step in converting your negative traits into positive traits. Once your negatives are turned into positives, your limitations will cease to exist.
3. Do something that scares you every day. Think about how much more courageous, bold, and vibrant the new you would be. What type of potential opportunities could you open up for yourself? What about the new friends you could make, or the new career direction you could discover? The possibilities are endless.
