MINIMESTER ACTIVITIES
DANIELA DE LEON
DANIELA DE LEON
In less than a month, we will be done with this fall semester and ready to kick off winter break, which means we’re not only one semester closer to graduating but there are lots of opportunities to take advantage of.
First, enrolling in minimester courses is an excellent way to get ahead in your major and get some classes out of the way. Classes are scheduled to begin on Jan. 4, 2015 and end on Jan. 22, 2015. Although it is only a three-week period, you will be able to receive credit for the class you take and get that much closer to graduation.
If this does not sound enticing to you, Towson University offers alternative break opportunities throughout winter break. These alternative breaks are community service trips that take you to different places across the country. Not only do you engage in various community service events and help people on these trips, but you also get to travel to new and exciting places. But wait, that’s not all. Since alternative breaks are for a good cause, winter break trips will only cost you $150, which can easily be covered through fundraising events. This year, fundraisers will be done through Black and Gold Catering, GiveCorps, and other local businesses.
