Stand out this Halloween!Rob Greer
Halloween is almost here! Most college-aged students are too old to go trick-or-treating, but they are still excited to get dressed up in costumes and go out on the town. If you want to stand out this Halloween, it’s best to get creative and think outside the box. Thus far, the most popular costumes coming off of the shelves this upcoming season are Donald Trump, the shark from last year’s Super Bowl halftime show, and Jon Snow from Game of Thrones. Since these costumes are the most popular, you may not want to wear one of them. Instead, find something original that very few people will think of. I received many compliments last year for dressing as Squints from the movie Sandlot. That is a costume not many people would think of and only cost me around $10 at the local Goodwill. Get creative! Remember to be mindful when posting pictures of you in your costume to social media. Most college students tend to post pictures of themselves in their costumes to Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms. Make sure you do not have any obscene pictures containing illegal content or outfits that show too much skin. Employers could see this and it could potentially lead to not getting a job or getting in trouble at your current job. Whether you choose to go out or not, always remember do not drink and drive. Better safe than sorry, call a cab or Uber! It’s much cheaper than a DUI after all. |
